Journey to the West
Ms. Xiaolei grew up in a teachers’ family, her mother was a high-school Mandarin teacher for more than 30 years. Not only she has shown great talents in dance and arts since she was a little girl, also on academics Ms. Xiaolei obtained the master degrees in Foreign Language Education at NYU and Information Systems at Northeastern University.  When back to China, she taught English in multiple Universities. Later she decided to come back to US for pursuing her further dream - Balanchine's modern ballet. During studying both ESL and foreign language education in NYU, she found a way to combine language learning with her passion for dance and movement, which works very effectively for young learners. For then, more than 7 years, Ms. Xiaolei has been teaching young children Mandarin and dance, training teachers, as well as consulting for educational institutions.
Ms. Xiaolei was the Mandarin dance  and language teacher in the lower school in NEST+m. Additionally she teaches Mandarin dance at  Avenues Summer, which is a substitute in Brooklyn Wardolf school, and enrichment mandarin art  in Studio Creative Play.                            
Ms. Xiaolei is a mom of a lovely 7 years old daughter who loves ice skating, math, coding, violin and piano.

SIJIA WANG

Senior Teacher

Ms. Sijia is from the northern China, so she speaks very standard Mandarin. Ms. Sijia graduated from NYU, obtained master degree for Teaching Foreign Language in Mandarin. She holds New York State of certificate in mandarin, 1st-12th grade. Ms. Sijia was a Mandarin public school teacher, also with rich teaching experience in Avenues Summer.

DORIS ZHANG

Senior Teacher

Ms. Doris, a graduate of Hunter College, is very passionate about teaching Mandarin, it’s her mission. Ms. Doris is an experienced Mandarin teacher in New York City public and private after school programs, such as PS 118 in Brooklyn and the United Nations International School. Ms. Doris has two young sons.
